No, the Evac+Chair has been designed, developed and manufactured in UK & USA.

Where can the Chair be used?
The Evac+Chair is being used in multistoreyed buildings, hospitals and industries where evacuation of injured or physically impaired may be possibility in some emergency.

What is the basic principle of operation of Evac+Chair?
There is a smooth, continuously working brake/traction system that sows descent proportionally to the weight of the passenger. The patient or impaired person is strapped in at the waist level and head level so that he/she not slip off.

How does the chair move on flat areas?
On landing and flat areas, the geometry of the unit transfers all weight to the two main wheels for turn and movement. by one single movement the chair transfer from sliding mode on belting to 4 wheel mode for smooth movement in normal areas.

Does it requires a number of people to transfer the injured or impaired as well as operate Evac+Chair?
No, just one person is sufficient who guides the chair with the person seated in it. Evac+Chair does 90% of work itself.

Can the Evac+Chair be used to take person upwards on stairs?
No, the Evac+Chair is simple, light and easy to use.
It has been designed to meet the most common emergency situations, descending the stairs and rolling easily on landing and corridors.

Do we require any special attachment for the chair to be used on the stairs?
Evac+Chair is all that is required. It uses basic principles of gravity and friction, not gadgets. No installation is required. It's always ready for immediate utilization in a very simple way.

Does the person operating the chair have to be very strong?
No, it is simple to operate. The Evac+Chair  does not require exceptional strength to operate. An average built person can comfortably guide the chair down the stair with an injured or impaired person.

Is Evac+Chair recommended for the disabled individual at home?
It is not a conventional wheel chair. It should be used on a routine basis as a substitute to a conventional wheel chair. It is recommended to be used only in emergencies to evacuate injured or impaired down the staircases.

Is it difficult to be trained on using the Evac+Chair and how long does it take to learn to use it?
No special training is required. It is simple to use. The instructions are provided on the chair itself.
